'Rules' at home

Most children and young people have to live by a set of rules, whether or not they are in care. Rules help people to live together, respect each other, and help prepare you for adult lifel

You should be told about what happens at home, and what is expected from everyone.

It may be different from what you are used to. IF IN DOUBT, ask your carers or social worker.

Some of the things you need to know about are:

  • Visitors
  • Telephone calls
  • Using the computer
  • Letters
  • Going out
  • Getting up in the morning
  • Meal times
  • School
  • Bed time
  • Weekends
  • Pocket money
  • And lots more
