Your Pathway Plan will tell you how much money you will get from the Leaving Care Team.

Care leavers will get money to meet basic needs such as accommodation, living costs, and setting up home.   In addition you could get money for:

  • things or travel that you need for your education, training or employment;
  • contact with family or other significant relationships; for example if you are 16 and 17 years old to visit your family if they live in South Gloucestershire (twice a month). If you need to visit your family more often, or they live further away, you should discuss it with your personal adviser.
  • special things that you need, for example because you are disabled or pregnant, or the costs of childcare if you are a parent;
  • clothes; you will be expected to budget for clothes from your allowances, benefits or earnings and only in exceptional circumstances will clothes/shoes be bought for you.
  • cultural or religious need.

If you need something that is not on this list, ask your personal advisor.
